Taawon (Welfare Association) is a non-profit, civic organization launched in Geneva in the year 1983, upon the initiative of a group of Palestinian business leaders and intellectuals. Taawon has become one of the largest organizations operating in Palestine and the diaspora camps in Lebanon, whereby it touches the lives of more than one million Palestinians on an annual basis, with half of these beneficiaries being women.

Taawon: Main Partner in “Palestine AI Week 2026”
Taawon has announced its participation as a main partner in Palestine AI Week 2026, which will take place at Palestine Technopark from April 25 to May 1, bringing together a wide range of youth, experts, and entrepreneurs from across Palestine.

ISNAD and the Emergency Committee of Gaza Universities Receive MESA 2025 Academic Freedom Award

The Emergency Committee of Universities in Gaza and Taawon’s ISNAD Initiative have received the 2025 Academic Freedom Award granted by the Middle East Studies Association (MESA). The award recognizes their pivotal role in safeguarding the right to education, ensuring academic continuity, and sustaining higher education in Gaza despite the extensive destruction that has devastated the education sector and university infrastructure.
