Malaysia Doubles Its Support for Gaza’s Orphans: USD 200,000 for the NOOR Initiative
The Embassy of Malaysia in Amman announced a contribution of USD 200,000 to Taawon in support of the NOOR Initiative for orphaned children in Gaza. This marks the second consecutive year of Malaysian support, with the government doubling its contribution from USD 100,000 last year to USD 200,000 in 2025 to expand life-saving services for orphaned children in the Strip.The contribution was announced at an official ceremony attended by Malaysia’s Ambassador to Jordan and Palestine, H.E. Dato’ Mohamad Nasri Abdul Rahman; Taawon’s Director General, Dr. Tareq Emtairah; , senior staff members Nasser Al Aloul and Hana Al Aruri, along with representatives of the Embassy.Ambassador Abdul Rahman stated that the contribution, provided through the Akaun Amanah Kemanusiaan Rakyat Palestin (AAKRP), Malaysia’s Humanitarian Trust Fund for the People of Palestine, reflects Malaysia’s continued commitment to supporting the Palestinian people. He highlighted the urgent needs of children in Gaza and reaffirmed Malaysia’s interest in strengthening its cooperation with Taawon due to the organization’s trusted role in delivering humanitarian programs that respond to real needs on the ground.
He stated: “For Malaysia, this is not just a financial contribution. It is a reflection of our moral responsibility, our solidarity, and our belief that every child deserves dignity, stability, and hope.”
The contribution will cover a full year of support for 100 orphaned children enrolled in the NOOR Initiative,includeing food assistance, clothing, medical services, education, and psychosocial support.
Dr. Emtairah expressed appreciation for Malaysia’s ongoing support, noting that the decision to double the contribution demonstrates growing confidence in Taawon’s role in delivering essential care for orphaned children in Gaza.
Malaysia’s renewed contribution for the second year reaffirms its long-standing solidarity with Palestine and its commitment to humanitarian efforts that strengthen resilience and protect children in Gaza.
