Toward Shared Programs with Lasting Human and Development Impact
As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration and shared action, Dr. Tareq Emtairah, Director General of Taawon, met with Mr. Amer Shomali, Director of the Palestinian Museum in Birzeit, and Mr. Yves Gicquero, Regional Director of the French Development Agency (AFD). The meeting was held at the Palestinian Museum, with the participation of members of the executive teams from both institutions.
The meeting provided an open space for dialogue on opportunities for partnership between Taawon and AFD, and on ways to develop joint programs and initiatives that translate shared values into meaningful humanitarian and development impact in Palestine.
The visit also included a guided tour of the Palestinian Museum, where the delegation was introduced to the museum’s mission, collections, and cultural programs. This was followed by an in-depth discussion during which Taawon presented its key programs and projects, with a particular focus on its interventions in Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to build on this exchange and move into a practical next phase, through dedicated follow-up meetings in the coming period. These steps aim to activate the partnership and turn dialogue into concrete action on the ground.
