Taawon Establishes the Taawon Sustainability Council to Safeguard Impact for the Long Term
Impact worth building is impact that does not stop with one generation. Guided by this belief, Taawon has announced the establishment of the Taawon Sustainability Council, a strategic step aimed at strengthening financial sustainability, reinforcing sound governance, and ensuring that Taawon’s Palestinian humanitarian mission continues to grow and endure over time.
The announcement followed the Council’s first meeting, held in Amman during the first week of December 2025, with members participating both in person and online. During the meeting, the Council approved its organizational framework and elected its leadership, marking the formal launch of its work.
Mr. Munib Al Masri was elected Chair of the Taawon Sustainability Council, and Dr. Naeem Abdulhadi was elected Vice Chair, for a one-year term starting from the date of election.
The Taawon Sustainability Council is an honorary body that brings together a group of contributors committed to strengthening the organization’s financial sustainability, alongside members of their families, particularly from the younger generation. The Council is designed to support strategic thinking around the growth of Taawon’s financial reserve fund, promote transparency and accountability, and attract partners and contributors who believe in Taawon’s mission and wish to play a role in sustaining it. Through this collective stewardship, the Council contributes to ensuring the continuity of Taawon’s programs and the lasting value of its humanitarian impact.
Taawon emphasized that the Sustainability Council operates in a non-executive capacity, within clearly defined parameters that complement the organization’s existing governance and institutional structure. The establishment of the Council reflects Taawon’s commitment to a modern and responsible institutional model that strengthens trust with members, contributors, partners, and donors, and reinforces its position as a leading Palestinian development and humanitarian organization.
Through this step, Taawon renews its promise to invest not only in today’s needs, but in a future where impact is protected, sustained, and passed on.
