Don’t look away

Highlight the Orphans of Gaza

Three years. That is how long the children of Gaza have carried a weight no child should hold. The world's attention moves on. Headlines shift. New crises fill the screens. But these children are still here — and their future is still waiting to be built.
This October, a team of climbers will ascend Mount Kilimanjaro — 5,895 metres above sea level — to bring Gaza's orphans back to the highlight. To carry their light upward to the highest point on the African continent. To make sure the world does not look away.
The word Noor means light in Arabic. Highlight is a play on words — to climb high, and to illuminate. This campaign is about refusing to let these children slip into the shadows of forgotten crises. It is about bringing them back to the focus they deserve.

Why we climb

This is more than a summit.

Every step represents a child whose life has been disrupted by loss, displacement, and uncertainty. NOOR is designed around long-term care, not a one-time intervention. It stays with each child through the years when protection, stability, education, health, and emotional support matter most.

Education Learning access, school continuity, and future pathways.
Protection Safe, consistent care for children facing vulnerability.
Health Essential medical support and ongoing health follow-up.
Psychosocial care Support that helps children heal, adapt, and rebuild trust.

The challenge

Kilimanjaro for NOOR

The team will take on Africa’s highest mountain during a 10-day expedition. The physical challenge is significant, but the purpose is larger: to mobilize a community around a long-term promise to Gaza’s orphaned children.
