Taawon (Welfare Association) is a non-profit, civic organization launched in Geneva in the year 1983, upon the initiative of a group of Palestinian business leaders and intellectuals. Taawon has become one of the largest organizations operating in Palestine and the diaspora camps in Lebanon, whereby it touches the lives of more than one million Palestinians on an annual basis, with half of these beneficiaries being women.

Taawon: Main Partner in “Palestine AI Week 2026”
Taawon has announced its participation as a main partner in Palestine AI Week 2026, which will take place at Palestine Technopark from April 25 to May 1, bringing together a wide range of youth, experts, and entrepreneurs from across Palestine.
The week aims to foster innovation and empower Palestinian talent through a series of activities, including training programs, innovation competitions, a main conference, as well as interactive events and professional networking opportunities.
Taawon Hosts Charity Iftar to Support Gaza Students through “Isnad” Initiative
Taawon organized a Ramadan charity iftar that brought together business leaders, members, and friends of the organization to rally support for the “Isnad” initiative, which aims to sustain university education for students in Gaza amid unprecedented challenges facing the higher education sector.
The evening began with a reception and iftar, followed by a program featuring remarks, a presentation on the “Isnad” initiative, and a cultural storytelling performance by Jerusalem-based hakawati Hossam Abu Eisha.
