Taawon (Welfare Association) is a non-profit, civic organization launched in Geneva in the year 1983, upon the initiative of a group of Palestinian business leaders and intellectuals. Taawon has become one of the largest organizations operating in Palestine and the diaspora camps in Lebanon, whereby it touches the lives of more than one million Palestinians on an annual basis, with half of these beneficiaries being women.
Roots & Threads: Children shaping dreams into art, and art into futures
In Tulkarem and Jenin, the sounds of music, the colors of paint, the scent of wood, the texture of clay, and the patterns of embroidery are weaving together a new story of resilience. Through Roots & Threads, implemented by the Tamer Institute for Community Education in partnership with Taawon, under the patronage of the Ministry of Social Development and with the generous support of GOAL Global, children are reclaiming safe spaces for healing and creativity.
